Carol (Rita Tushingham), a lonely New York secretary, tries to find a husband through a computerized matrimonial agency. She is introduced to Gavino (Aldo Maccione), a handsome Sardinian who hopes to remain in America by marrying an American wife. Rita spent six weeks in New York City during the summer of 1973 filming this Italian comedy. It was the first time that she and her husband Terry did not take their children with them on location. Dodonna and Aisha remained in Polperro with a nanny. The film's director, Gian Luigi Polidoro wanted Rita to do a nude scene, but she refused. "I'm not a prude. I just don't think it's necessary." (Shame!)
